Taecomm was set up in 1978, making Z80 Business computers running the CP/M operating system, this with 64k of memory and 8" floppy disc drives. Much help on the electronics side was received from Dave Parkins of Greenbank Electronics with his expertise with the "Interak" computer. The original software called KMM Accounts used the Ashton Tate dBase language and was written specifically for our own business use.

We were then asked to set up a similar system for a Military Surplus/Outdoor Clothing Store. From there on, the software made its way into a considerable number and types of business with most versions having custom procedures to cover the different requirements of the many users. Since the introduction of the first IBM PC, KMM Accounting was converted to run under MSdos O/S and renamed Bisig. The Bisig program has since been substantially re-written to run under the Windows O/S. The new "Visual Style Bisig" is available in two standard forms, Bisig SoHo Plus and Bisig Main, but the style and content of all can be customised on request for speciality users.

EPOS and Remote Delivery Systems have also evolved from the main Bisig software making good use of Bisig Processors comprehensive Stock Control plus the linking of Cash Drawers, Barcode Readers, Card Swipes, Touch Screens and Electronic Scales. Stand alone Till software (Bisig Till) has been developed, as is a Bisig Remote Delivery Processor. Both will link into the main Bisig Account Processor, or as stand alone units. Control Electronics have gone hand in hand with the development of the software, often special interfaces had to be designed to go with users requirements for things such as Till Drawers and input from security alarms accessing I.Ds from databases by radio comms. Current experiments are focussed on a Stock Data Collector with radio links to the Bisig stock database.

Current Bisig Software is powered by the latest DBI dBase Plus relational database language.
